Thanks to my very generous parents, I am the proud owner of a new hybrid bicycle (it was a graduation present)! I’ve been feeling out the mean streets of New York City a little bit at a time, but this Tuesday, I think I finally hit my stride as a city cyclist. I rode to work in the depths o Brooklyn, then into the city for happy hour and back home in what turned out to be 24.5 miles… And the best part? It was really fun!

My first rule for bicycling greatness? Appropriate shoes.

Next step: game face.

The most important element of a bike ride in my opinion is the destination. In my case it was The Frying Pan on the west side, complete with a hot dog, fries,

I hadn’t planned on biking home, but it was so lovely out, I couldn’t help myself.
